This event aims to introduce the mission, vision, and activities of SIG-EduLearn to both current and prospective ASIS&T members. The session will feature past and present Chairs sharing their experiences, contributions, and insights into how SIG-EduLearn has supported their professional journeys. The event seeks to enhance awareness, encourage engagement, and inspire active participation from students, researchers, and professionals. 

Objectives: To share first-hand experiences of navigating the PhD journey from proposal to completion. To highlight academic, personal, and logistical challenges during international research travel. To discuss strategies that contributed to academic and personal success. To inspire current and aspiring PhD scholars with practical advice and real-life insights. To promote a culture of knowledge sharing and academic mentorship. 

About the Speaker: Dr. Faiza Bashir recently completed her PhD research on the use of mobile devices among medical students, framed through the Theory of Planned Behaviour and Gratifications Theory. Her doctoral journey included international academic travel, participation in global conferences, and collaborative research with scholars worldwide. Her experience embodies academic excellence, resilience, and the value of intercultural learning.
