ARIST Paper Writing Workshop

Monday, April 3, 2023 (6:00 PM - 7:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

After a long hiatus the Annual Review of Information Science and Technology (ARIST) has relaunched and is now seeking new contributions. ARIST publishes comprehensive, systematic reviews on topics relevant to information science, computing science, and technology, broadly defined. We welcome submissions on a diverse range of research topics, including youth studies, digital humanities, machine learning, archival studies, open science, and more!

An ideal ARIST manuscript presents both an historic overview and a discussion of contemporary trends related to the topic being investigated. The audience for ARIST reviews is diverse, including readers from across various disciplines and professional contexts; reviews are intended to educate, enlighten, and be cited by (e.g.,) doctoral students drafting literature reviews, information professionals applying the latest evidence in practice, or professors summarizing research innovations in grant applications.

Please join the editors of ARIST to learn about the “Expression of Interest” pitch process for new submissions and to gain tips for writing comprehensive reviews, with presentations by:

  • Editor-in-Chief Dr. Lisa Given, Professor of Information Sciences, RMIT University (Australia)
  • Editorial Board Member: Dr. Bhuva Narayan, Associate Professor (Digital Social Media), University of Technology Sydney (Australia)
  • Editorial Board Member: Dr. John M. Budd, Professor Emeritus, University of Missouri (USA)

Attendees are encouraged to bring ideas for new submissions to discuss with the Editors, as well as questions about the publication process. More information about ARIST’s submission process and a full list of Editorial Board Members is online at https://www.asist.org/arist/
