Prof. Marlene Holmner discusses how traditional metrics (Bibliometrics) are used to measure research productivity and success. The presentation also looks at Altmetrics as altmetrics are not a replacement for traditional measures in discerning the impact of research, but they do and can complement traditional measures. The need for research e-visibility is discussed and strategies supplied that could help to improve your researcher's / research discoverability and accessibility. Social media and other research platforms used to increase visibility of researcher and research, such as ORCID, Research Gate and Academia.edu are discussed.
