Stay Connected in Bangkok! Electrical Outlets & Adapters
|
Traveling to Bangkok for ASIS&T AM26? Make sure your devices are ready to charge! Thailand uses 220V electricity at 50Hz, and electrical outlets commonly accommodate Type A, B, C, and O plugs.
Do You Need a Travel Adapter or Voltage Converter?
- Traveling from the U.S. or Canada? Many outlets accommodate standard American two-prong plugs, but bringing a universal travel adapter is recommended.
- Traveling from Europe? Many European two-round-pin plugs work in Thailand, although some grounded plugs may require an adapter.
- Traveling from the UK, Australia, or other regions? Bring a universal travel adapter to ensure compatibility.
Most modern laptops, smartphones, and tablets have dual-voltage chargers (100–240V), meaning you typically won't need a voltage converter—just a compatible plug adapter. However, appliances such as hair dryers, curling irons, and electric shavers may require a voltage converter if they are designed for 110–120V only.
Our Tip: Before packing, check the voltage label on your devices. If it reads INPUT: 100–240V, 50/60Hz, you're good to go!
Pack a universal travel adapter so you can stay connected throughout your Bangkok experience!
